General information does not become personal healthcare
Articles summarize research and public-health guidance for an ordinary reader. Tools apply fixed arithmetic, rules, answer weights, or page routes to information you enter. Neither process includes a medical interview, physical examination, sleep study, verified sleep record, diagnosis, or clinician judgment.
Using the site, emailing the contact address, reading an article, or receiving a tool result does not create a doctor-patient, therapist-client, coach-client, legal, or other professional relationship. No page should be used to start, stop, or change a medicine or treatment.
Do not delay appropriate care
If symptoms are persistent, worsening, dangerous, or affecting daily function, use qualified professional care rather than repeatedly adjusting a calculator, quiz, checklist, routine, or self-test.
What each page type can and cannot tell you
| Page type | What it can do | What it cannot establish |
|---|---|---|
| Articles | Explain concepts, evidence, practical options, uncertainty, and signs that deserve help. | The cause of one person's symptoms, a diagnosis, or a guaranteed solution. |
| Time and arithmetic calculators | Apply stated timing, duration, half-life, time-zone, or sleep-opportunity assumptions. | Actual sleep stages, actual caffeine concentration, circadian phase, fitness to drive/work, or a treatment schedule. |
| Quizzes and scores | Group self-reported answers into descriptive patterns using visible rules. | A biological chronotype, relationship quality, health condition, prognosis, or validated clinical score unless a page specifically proves validation. |
| Checklists and routing tools | Organize what you notice and point toward relevant existing content. | A room inspection, environmental measurement, root cause, risk assessment, or clinical triage. |
| Glossary and myth/fact reference | Define terms and summarize the context behind familiar claims. | Individual advice or proof that a short statement applies in every circumstance. |
| Audio and timers | Play optional tracks or request a browser-based countdown. | Calibrated sound therapy, a decibel measurement, an alarm guarantee, sleep monitoring, or a medical benefit. |
Specific formulas, rules, and limitations are documented in How Sleep Calculations Work. If the visible page and methodology ever disagree, report the mismatch rather than assuming either is clinically correct.
Why an estimate or suggestion may not fit you
Sleep timing, sleep need, sleep-cycle length, caffeine metabolism, light response, travel adaptation, room comfort, pain, pregnancy, age, medicines, health conditions, disability, shift work, caregiving, stress, substance use, and many other factors vary. A neat number can hide that variation.
- A 90-minute cycle is a planning convention, not a measurement of your stages.
- A caffeine half-life calculation is a mathematical estimate, not a blood test or personal clearance time.
- A chronotype label is a summary of quiz answers, not a biological test or personality type.
- A compatibility score describes selected responses, not the health or future of a relationship.
- A bedroom score reflects reported conditions, not temperature, sound, light, air-quality, damp, electrical, or building-safety measurements.
- A jet-lag schedule cannot know your circadian phase, medical constraints, flight disruption, daylight availability, or work demands.
Treat outputs as prompts for judgment. Do not chase false precision or assume a result is safer because it contains decimals, colored bars, confidence labels, or a named profile.
When professional or urgent help is more appropriate
Arrange qualified healthcare assessment when sleep difficulty persists, recurs, causes significant distress, affects mood or daily function, or appears alongside loud snoring, gasping, breathing pauses, severe daytime sleepiness, unintended sleep episodes, injuries, unusual nighttime behavior, sudden muscle weakness, or another concerning symptom.
Use urgent help for immediate danger or severe symptoms
Contact the appropriate local emergency service for severe breathing difficulty, chest pain, loss of consciousness, sudden one-sided weakness, face drooping, new speech trouble, serious injury, an immediate safety risk, or another emergency. Do not drive yourself when it is unsafe.
These examples are not a complete triage list and cannot determine what is happening. Local health services and qualified professionals can assess the full situation.
External links, sources, products, and advertising
Source sections and privacy pages link to external websites. A link means the destination was relevant to the cited or operational context at the time of review; it does not mean Sleep Manager controls, continuously monitors, guarantees, or endorses the entire external site.

Research changes, sources move, software has defects, and wording can still be incomplete or wrong. A review date is evidence of maintenance activity, not a guarantee of perfect accuracy or independent medical review.
